Darryl Anders' long career has earned him a reputation as a solid sideman with phat tone and a mile-deep pocket. His skills know no stylistic limitations, as evidenced by his work over several years recording many of the bass tracks for the popular video game series Karaoke Revolution, Guitar Hero, and Rock Band. He's held down the bass chair with funk legends Tower of Power, Meters drummer Zigaboo Modeliste, Cyril Neville, 3-time Grammy nominee Ledisi, and Grammy-award winning singer/songwriter Bonnie Hayes.

Seeking his own creative outlet, Darryl stepped out front to lead his own musical enterprise - AgapéSoul. Earning comparisons to world class R&B/Jazz ensembles Incognito and Brand New Heavies, AgapéSoul’s debut album Believe In Love hit #1 on the UK Soul Chart as well as being chosen as 2012 ’s #7 Best Album of the Year.

AgapéSoul’s highly anticipated follow-up album Conversations shows an even more confident side of Anders’ production style. Phat grooves, big horns, soul stirring melodies and lyrics that take the listener far beyond the reach of most of todays contemporary writers. Fueled by Anders’ desire to create something positive at a time when there is so much negativity, Conversations made its Big Beautiful Noise with two #1 singles “Kite" and “The Way That We Love” on both the UK Soul Chart and the Indie Soul Chart.

For more than 20 years Darryl has been playing Mike Lull basses. Anders has tried various wood combinations, pickups and preamps, each yielding its own specific character. All that experimentation with Mike helped create the DA5—the perfect balance of modern and classic.
