The goal of the V model was to try to capture all the best parts of the pre-CBS Js we know and love, with intentionally improved playability, ergonomics, and tone.
The V4 and its 5-string sibling, the V5, accomplish just that and are totally passive with a full size body.
Additionally, since we focus on making lightweight instruments in general, this makes our V4 and V5 among the most comfortable J-Basses to hang on your shoulder for the long gigs.
